A qustion on mediumship. 'Are some of us chosen to work with spirit before we are actaually born or is it inherited down through the generations'?
I have seen spirit since a young child which gave me the most terrible fear of the dark ?...As I have grown older I have come to accept my mediumship as a wonderful gift to help others and found out that my greatgrandmother and my late father were also very gifted.'Are we actually chosen before birth to work with spirit or is it inherited through the generations'? Whatever the reason I will always be thankful and wouldnt change it for the world, many thanks

I've been thinking about another question to ask Tony. For many years when I was younger I used to see faces as I was falling asleep, they would start off as benevolent and smiling but gradually 'morph' into grotesque versions of the initial images, this would scare the wits out of me ! Also around the same time ( approx between the ages of 10-15) I would feel the sensation of weight ( like someone sitting on my feet) while I was in bed falling asleep, again this terrified me to the point where I would have my head buried under the covers too scared to even look!Does Tony have any explanation for these experiences? hi i often see my grandmother in my dreams right in my face and screaming at me as if she is angry with me or trying to get my attention can he shed anylight on this?, i also often when falling to sleep feel like someone is sitting on my chest i cant move speak or anything images flash in my head and if i do manage to open my eyes i see an image of someone in my room my mom says to relax maybe i have a gift and if i relaxed more may see more but i get scared i dont no what to do?? marie x

I am new to this forum but a regular reader of Spirit and Destiny, so I hope you don't mind me 'jumping in'.

Like Mazza above, I too have experienced the exact same feelings when falling asleep.

I haven't felt this for many years, but when I was in my late teens/early twenties and sleeping in my parents home, I woul have trouble getting to sleep.

Then I would start to drop asleep and have very severe and disturbing dreams/images in my head... When I opened my eyes (which was always hard to do) I would see flashing lights hovering above me and feel something very heavy pressing down on me. It would be terrifying and I would feel someone was in the room. After struggling (which seemed forever, but probably a few minutes) I would manage to turn on the bedside light and there would be nothing there...

I have not had this for a few years but I would be fascinated to know about it... I remember telling my mum at the time and she said it was stress...?!

Would love to hear people's views.

Hi there! Could TOny give me any advice on how to not scare myself silly when spirit visits? I get such a fright I scare them away without having a chance to talk to them! Thanks.

I believe that animals go to Spirit too - but would be interested to hear Tony'd thoughts on this.  But if so, what do they do there?  Are pets looked after by people?  Or do they kind of fend for themselves, or stay with other animals til their owner passes over?

I'm also interested to hear about children, and whether they age in spirit - and also about babies who were miscarried etc before they had chance to be born.

I would like to ask Tony if it ever occurs that spirits don't wish to or are unable to come through or contact us? If so, why might this be? is it because the spirit person is happy and contented somewhere and doesn't wish to be disturbed?
My Grandma has recently passed away and I would love more than anything to get a message from her, but I fear that if I go to see a medium, she may not come forward and then I will just feel dissapointed?

I do have a question for Tony, but it isn't really something that I am sure you would want in the magazine. If I can just explain first though.

I have been contact a few months ago by Amy Fitzpatricks family in Ireland, Amy lived in spain and went missing, there has been a massive search for her but up until now she has not been found, and is only 15 years of age, the reason that they contacted me was to see if I could give them information on her dissappearance. I told them lots of things that were in the police report that was not made public, and also described an area in spain where they should look,  everything I said the family confirmed.

They then later said to me that they had a private reading with Tony Stockwell and that he had given them practically the same reading as I had, my question to Tony would be that they are still in contact with me, as I try to remote view a particular area for them to search in, I was wondering if Tony himself remembered this reading with Amy's family and if he had an area in mind that I could further concentrate on for them, as the stress and not knowing is really eating away at them now.

This may be a very unorthodox way to ask Tony a question, but it is a really difficult situation to be honest and circumstance brought them to me, I just wondered if he did remember and if he had a rough area in mind to look so that I could tune in further. Is there any way that you could ask Tony this question or show him this post? and reply bak to me if you could to my email address angel.messages@btinternet.com

Have any spirits ever shed light on the 'heaven' concept and if there is a 'God'. Do they comment on if their religous activity on earth influenced where they went. Or when people pass on where exactly have they gone.

My question for Tony is why have I never had a psychic experience, when most people seem to have one or two? Even when loved ones have passed I never dream of them.

I was wondering how mediums cope with all the sad emotional stuff that they must pick up on. Does any of it stay with you and 'haunt' you as it were? If it does, how do you stop yourself from becoming emotionaly affected by it all?. I'm not a medium but I find that by simply reading upsetting stuff, for example the murder of a child, it can make me feel a range of negative emotions such as anger or sadness and these emotions might stay with me for a few days and affect my mood. Do mediums ever get depressed?

I have and have had many beloved pets in my life (cats and rats).

Could Tony tell me how far down the chain of life, as it were, that animal spirits live on? We hear about cats and dogs and other larger animals.

But what about rats? I'd love to see my little ratty-boys in the next world!

And, as I said, do all animals (including, for example, goldfish and stick insects) have spirits?

My sister sadly passed away in a terrible accident, she was pregnant at the time. I have had contact with her through a medium but the baby she was carrying was never mentioned. She was only a couple of months pregnant. I wondered if her baby's spirit lives on in the spirit world or, as it was never actually born, did something else happen to the baby's spirit?? And also if this baby had chosen to be born to my sister but never made it would it stay with her till the next life or move on and be born of someone else?

I worked with a lady once who was on the whole not a nice person. She was very selfish and didn't treat her children particularly well. I introduced this lady to spiritualism through an off the cuff conversation one day at work, she soon became hooked on getting telephone readings from various psychics and clairvoyants. I always wondered though whether genuine psychics/mediums/etc could pick up on the fact that she wasn't a particuarly decent person? And whether, as a medium you can tell when someone is selfish or a back stabber for example?

Often when sitting alone, many times i have had the sensation of my hair being touched,but have always thought it to be just my normal body reactions.Having got more & more interested in spiritual things, i'm wondering if i should be taking more notice when it happens in the future?

I think this would be a spiritial question, when someone in my family died, few days or in the week prior to their deaths(one was very unexpected) I hear a voice calling, one time it was a voice calling hello at my door but no one there, the last time was very vivid, I woke at 6.05am and thought about getting up, b ut did'nt, then I heard what sounded like my daughter caling her brothers name, a bit peeved I got up to go down and tell her to be quiet it was too early to get him up, but of course she was fast asleep. I thought not much of it til later in the day, then I realised what had happened, and was filled with dread for my father who was ill with cancer, 3 days later he died. A few years ago I suffered a miscarriage. I understand that such babies go on to grow up in spirit, but have often wondered whether the same applies to aborted pregnancies? Would these babies grow up in spirit, or be re-born later on?

Hi - I have a few questions ---

1) like several posts above I had the presence and heavy 'black' weight when i was younger. I would love to know the reason / purpose of this.

2) Also, when a person 'sees' spirit, does the spirit 'manifest' (look like a real person standing in front of you) or is it more like an image in the mind? (i've experienced both so want to know whether i am actually a bit of a fruitcake or have some 'ability')

3) I would like to know how to improve my 'ability' but am not sure where to start - i know some people offer 'training' for quite a hefty price, but i want to know that i am 'doing the right thing' (not wasting my money, but having something that would be recognised in the psychic/medium/healing area )

i have loads more questions, but will see how these go down first

1.Quite often when im lying in bed relaxed i get pictures in my head like movies the one i will remember is in black and white a milkman doing his rounds in the olden days thats is the one which had stayed the longest.i also get flash pictures of people in my head.why and what is this???

2.often which ive not had for months i thought i was being abducted i woke in the middle of night awake but asleep i was floating i could see my self going down stairs to see my parents watching tv and then in my sisters room i try and wake my self up and every time i reach for my bed light and cant i feel pind down and cant move.Ive often asked my sister if id been in her room maybe sleep walking as it feels reel its been hapening for about 8 years

like Ursula i hear knocking ,not going to sleep ,but it wakes me up ,its so real i get out of bed and go to the door ,but theres noone there.
its happening all the time to me ,noone else in the house hears it .Ive often heard spirit children and had to tell my kids to be quiet ,and they say its not them .Also i hear children singing .Ive had lots of premonitions too over the years all came to be .people have told me i could be a medium but i dont know where to start .

..but what do people actually DO in spirit?  I guess as they have no physical body they won't eat or anything?  But would they still enjoy some of the things they had here - maybe music, or walking or painting or whatever?  Or is it an existance so different we just can't imagine it?

Can anyone explain to me something that happened to me and was witnessed by another - the shattering of drinking glasses in a cupboard when there was no other force that could have been responsible. The cupboard door was opened and before my eyes there lay two shattered drinking glasses. They looked as if they had imploded.  Weird it was, but I was not afraid.  As this happened soon after the death of a spouse was this a message from my beloved or was it my extreme energy expelling what was then tremendous grief? I have and do have many experiences that involve a certain power source that is not easy to explain.

Hi to all. In the last two years Ive had my life turned on its head and am now only staring to feel ok again. But in all this turmoil, strange things have started to happen. I think I can sense spirit around me but I am way too scared to go there. I almost fell over our dog the other day in my kitchen. She has been dead now for 3 months but we had her for 12 years before that and she was a huge part of our family. I wasnt scared of her just comforted. But for some reason human spirits scare the living daylights out of me. Help

I know how you feel. Spirits reveal themselves as different coloured forms of light to me most of the time because I am still scared to see a human-like form. Animals and insects are fine.

I ask them now to visit me in dreams so that I may be accustomed to them in that realm and then hopefully soon be brave enough to see them in waking hours.

Ever since I can remember Atleast from the age of 2 I've had 2 problems. A couple of people have known about it and said that I was blessed with these gifts. One I see as good the other I feel is a curse. Can you help me understand them?

1) I've had a 'friend' since I was atleast 2 and I dream about her every night (since I was 2)I know all about her life, family who she was betroved to and how she died. I looked it up and this girl really existed in the 17th centry. She also buried a box beside a wall buy a 'hanging tree'. I dont understand why I dream of her.

2)Like others I see horrible faces come to me whenever I shut my eyes longer then 2 mins. But it doesn't end there. If I mediatate (which I refuse to do anymore) I 'see' the deaths accuring and some that haven't happened yet. Why is this? It also comes with 'deja vu' that feeling wouldn't bother me if it was for the fact that I know whats going to happen next ie arguements, fights, a whole movie that hasn't even been in cinema (now that is annoying and to others when I tell them everything that happens in the movie only t find out that it will be in cinema soon) Why do these happen and How do I get rid of them?

hi,i lost my 16 yr old daughter 12 yrs ago,she was very spiritual,and seemed an old soul.I have many talks with her in my head,and often if i ask her a question,a thought comes,and i will see whatever that thought may be,i.e a red leter for yes,etc,and it happens,one was a red admiral butterfly,minutes later,one flew i the window.I was wondering if she could be my spirit guide,or do relatives not come back as such and be guides,or gurdian angels.I know they can come and visit,i have felt her around,but she has been so much help in times of trouble,i feel she is more of a guardian angel,though i was led to beleive gurdian angels are with us from birth,i feel intuitively she is something more,as so many amazing things have happened,even things on the news,that have not yet ocurred,the thoughts are put there,and they come ttrue.I am not a disilussioned mother,i promise.

I wonder if there is an explanation when bad things seem to happen to really nice people. Do you believe that there is a lot we don't know and that someday we will understand why these things take place, often all at once?

I'm sorry you lost your beautiful daughter so young but I've no doubt she does guide you now.   Many spirit guides are souls we do not know (or those we haven't known in this life, but may have known in others) but some can be people we've once loved and lost.  My ex husband's friend Fred Lunn was Chinese and he came back to guide us shortly after his death.  He was the one who first drew me to my runestones and predicted that I'd have acupuncture one day (which came true, even though I didn't think it ever would because I hate needles).  

Stephen Holbrook (who's now an international medium) first had his grandfather as his guide.  I know this because Stephen came to Wakefield Church when he first became spiritually aware and former president Janet Ferguson (who was singer Jayne MacDonald's grandmother) helped him develop his abilities.  He told us all his grandad was the one who worked with him.  He know works with a guide called Archie May who Steve never knew, but he was able to trace Archie and there's a photo of him in one of Stephen's books.   I truly believe my mother still helps to guide me from time to time now she's passed over.  I find wonderful, particularly as mom and I used to take platform services together at spiritualist churches when she was alive.   Love never dies and it is the love that you and your daughter once shared (and still do share) that enables her to help and inspire you now.  

As you have said your daughter seemed like an old soul, I personally believe she fulfilled what she was born to do while still young, but all that wisdom within her hasn't been wasted as she's now passing it on to you - her mom.

I have a question for Tony Stockwell,

I have at least 7 members of family in the spirit world. When they were on this earth they were all non believers in the afterlife. Is this why whenever I have been to see mediums and clairvoyents they have not come through with any messages?

The last 2 years have been awful.
But recently in the last week i have had a butterfly fluttering by my lounge window at the same time every day between 4.30pm and 5pm.
It has lovely colours and sometimes sits on the window for a few seconds.
What could this mean?
