has anyone been on a ghost hunt event?
Further to my locations thread, I was wondering if anyone had been on a ghost hunt and what they thought about it?
Were you nervous before you went? Was there a talk by a medium? did you experience anything? Was it what you expected?

Hi,
I absolutely agree with Tracy (and am envious of her sensitivity to Spirit). My own feeling is that these events are open to frivolous sensationalism and the trivialisation of the Spirit World. I know people around my home town who go on these "Ghost Hunts" for a giggle and the same sort of thrill they get from horror films. To make matters worse, the organisers are charging upwards of £40 a head.
Television programmes have obviously added to the awareness of ghost hunts, and it is disappointing to see people like Derek Acorah, who previously had good reputations as mediums, getting involved in them.
This of course is only my opinion, but I am uncomfortable with the combination of money and spiritual matters (apart from the nominal fee that is charged for entry to Spriritual Church halls to contribute to the upkeep of the premises).

What a fantastic idea for a book! I certainly wish you well with it. Sounds as if it could be very amusing, and might make the organisers of GH's squirm a bit. LOL,

I definately agree a book to uncover all the tricks of the trade as they say I could do a ghost hunt at my house and charge a fortune but warning there are no hidden gadgets making things move just genuine loving spirits after saying that if Derek Acorah did come to my house he would soon be booted out the door and I dont mean by me people have to learn to respect spirit and all that they offer.xx
I'm actually going on one tonight at a place called Cusworth Hall. It's a lovely place with lovely vibes. To be honest I'm sat on the fence and don't know whether I believe or not believe in ghosts and spirits. So IF something happens its got to be something very unexplainable lol!
I am excited and looking forward to it more to watch peoples reactions and perceptions and enjoy the evening - it's something different! Having been to see the likes of Derren Brown and many other nlp/mentalists I am very very aware of cold reading etc etc. All interesting stuff.
It starts at 9pm and finishes at 3am so it's a long night I will let you know what I thought about it. Oh and it's run by a local medium and his wife so will be interesting to see what they have to say. :o)
Please let us know how you got on!

Hello
I have been on one once it started 10.00pm finished 2.00am we all met discussed the building and its activity firstly went down in cellar medium says can you hear that child screaming then someone else said yes then there was a cold breeze everyone legged it I looked up to see breeze was open vent in cellar then we went into another room lots activity in this room started seeing green lights the camera guy had a green lazer pen then heavy breathing starts yes camera man again.
In my eyes if a building is haunted then it is 24/7 not just in the dark hours I live and experience spirit everyday 24/7 and I show them the upmost respect.
What is annoying is that people are being charged a lot of money to go on these ghost hunts when really spirits are around them all the time all they have to do is listen.
