Not sure whats wrong with me :(
Im 2 weeks late for my period and am having really bad stomach ache, nausea , back ache and drained every day. Im definitely not pregnant, I did a test and knew I wouldnt be but wanted to rule it out. It feels like im on my monthlys but not even those pains are anything this bad or last this long!
I saw my doctor on friday and all she said was theres a bug going about and told me to go do a pregnancy test which I did. I was supposed to have doctors appointment tomorrow but got so fed up with being in pain today and feeling run down with it that I made an emergency appointment and went today. I told him everything and he felt my stomach but couldnt feel anything unusual (I am a big girl tho lol). He's refered me to have an ultra sound which Ive got to ring and book on monday but hes swaying to it more than likely to be my ibs but but bowels are fine and I have no pain down the left side of my stomach its mainly just above my pelvis and feels constant. Anyway he gave me some pills that treat ibs pain and said there was nothing else he can give me for pain cos cant have cocodamol.
So im just curious to why im feeling like this and not having a period? The only time I was like this was when I didnt have a period for 3 months, I had numerous pregnancy tests done including blood one and doc didnt know what was wrong then one day i was in absolute agony and was rushed to hospital cos it was my apendix so turned out that id had grumbling apendacitis for that time lol
Anyone have any clues or could send me some healing would be greatly appreciated

Hi Storms, I was ill at the weekend and had really bad stomach pains, temperature, nausea, fatigue and sore throat. They were an odd combination of symptoms. After 24 hours most of the symptoms had eased, but the stomach pains lasted several days. They were so bad I'd have thought it might be appendicitis, but that was removed when I was three. I am too old to be pregnant so that isn't a possibilty. I really hope yours is just a bug, maybe lasting longer due to your IBS. xxx l&l gigi
what about ovaries? I know you've been to your GP but sometimes they need a bit of a push to "think outside the box" with their diagnoses.
You could politely say, "Could it be anything to do with my ovaries?" and see what the doc says.
Hope you soon feel better, (let us know!)
Love & Light,
Claudia

You know yourself best Storms, if you need more check ups do insist honey xx
I hope you feel better soon Storms. A friend visited me today and she'd had something similar and lots of tests.
Turned out all her pain and discomfort was brought on by stress. She's ok now.
Fingers crossed for you.

HI Storms, has your GP referred you to be tested for Endometriosis? My aunt had very similar symptoms to these for a long time before they found out what it was, along with the late/missed bleeds. Might be worth mentioning at your next visit.
Good luck, am thinking of you x
I hope you are feeling a bit better. I can't shed any light on your symptoms as I don't have any experience of them but I will deffinately send you some healing.
I did reply a couple of days ago but my post is not there. Gremlins I think, or maybe it's me!!!!
Take care.

That sounds horrible.
I hope the pills help and you can get back to work. It's just so unfair that you have to worry about loosing your job as well. Hopefully that won't happen.
I hope you feel better soon,

Storms I feel for you. I too hope the pills work and you don't lose your job. Will send some healing and ask the angels to help you with work lovexx
Storms, the doctor may not give you stronger pain relief but tests should be done, pains in that area with the other symptoms need to be attended to, you shouldn't go on in such pain, no wonder you ar tired, it will wear you out. If you don't want to see your GP try a local walk in centre, hope it is resolved soon xxx gigi
Hi Storms,
Hope you are feeling better, if not sending you healing. I've come across conditions where stomach and backache, missed periods have been linked to gluten sensitivity or inflammatory disease - tests performed are anti-tissue transglutaminase to test for gluten sensitivity, antinuclear antibody test will tell your doctor if you are or have suffered from inflammatory disorders. These are the most common ones.
One of the tests your GP should have done is tests for ovarian cancer, symptoms are similar that can be mistaken for IBS. I'm not suggesting that you have ovarian cancer Storms or anything like this but there are new guidelines out if us women that if women experience abdominal bloating and backache, these tests need to be done, it's just a precaution that all.
Hope this helps. BIG hugs to you Storms

Hello Storms, hope you are feeling a little better now. Like the other members have suggested it would be a good idea to ask the GP to do some tests, and would help manage the condition much better. Also I had a friend who had similar symptoms, which they found out that it was fibroids and they were later removed and is now doing well.
Have a second opinion and push for the tests to be done. Hope your employer is more understanding, maybe you could get a letter from the GP stating that you had not been well, cause then they cannot make other claims that you didnt want to go in to work. Im sending you more positive thougts and hope things improve for you real soon. Love and blessings, Crystalblue.
I hope you are feeling a bit better. You have had some good advice here so I will just send some healing to you. Take care.

Hi Storms,
I have been suffering on and off with something very similar over the past couple of years, in fact I was up all night last Sunday. Last year I was sent for ultra-sound scans of my kidneys, uterus and a trans-vaginal scan of my ovaries. I was given the all clear but the stomach aches keep coming and going and when they do the pain radiates through to my back. My belly blows up so badly I look heavily pregnant at times!!!
As you are having delays in your cycle, all gynaceological (sp?) areas should really be checked out including a smear. Could you be on any meds that could affect your cycle, or the pill perhaps? My GP told me that I keep getting gastritis and that it is probably being caused by something called H pylori which is a bacterium that can wreack havoc in the abdomen. Also might be worth getting your gallbladder checked out as gallstones cause sever pain which radiates through to the back and seems to attack particularly at night. Trapped gas can be very painful (which is what they reackon it is with me!!!) and it could well be related to you having some food intolerances, the usual culprit being gluten.
Try not get too frightened, just make sure the doctors do their bit and get you checked out properly, and if they make you feel like you're fussing too much, just say what I said to one once, "I'd rather be a living hypochondriac than a dead one!!!" Try and keep a food diary too and see if the pain gets worse after eating certain foods, then try withdrawing any culprits and see if your symptoms improve.
Sending healing and love to you.
Love Jophiel xx.
I am wondering if you have a pelvic infection! Did the doctor take any swabs??? This needs further tests done as you should not be in agony!

Don't worry, I have polycystic ovaries too. And before I carry on, let me reassure you its got nothing to do with my current health troubles, I did ask about that.
Anyway apart from messed up periods it never caused me any troubles. I had it diagnosed about 25 years ago. No one had ever heard of it in those days. They said I have hundreds of cycsts on both ovaries also that if I wanted babies I'd need to take fertility drugs, but I had babies with no help at all.
I took a pill called dianette to regulate me for years. But I would recommend you look up The Food Hospital. It was a programme on channel four and in the first episode they helped a woman with polycystic ovaries. If it can be helped with diet it would be much better than drugs.
I hope things improve for you now Storms. I will keep you in my thoughts.

ps I missed the first episode of the food hospital but don't really need to look it up as I've got the menopause now! xxx
Sory you have been having such a hard time ...The doc should have sent you for a scan at the begining!!.......hope they sort out things for you
Take care Ruby
I have found that looking up medical stuff on the internet is fatal! I found a horrendous website all about exploding tumours, it did me no good at all as you can imagine!!
My polycistic ovaries just haven't caused me any trouble, all that stuff you read is possible I suppose but generally doesn't happen. my niece also has p.ovaries and she has three kids. She and I have cysts on both ovaries but you only have them on one so I think you'll be ok.

ps The Food Hospital also helped someone with ibs so that might be interesting for you to read as well xxx and thank you for keeping me in your thoughts, much appreciated.

Hi Storms, good to have you back.
I have no experience whatsoever of PCOS, but I'm sure there's help out there for you.
Keep your chin up girl.
Blessings, Lee :)
I hope they find an explanation for your pains, rather than you having to have an operation.
I hope things will soon get better for you.

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis of PCOS. I know someone who has it and she has got a couple of kids. Try not to worry about what will happen in the future, hopefully it will be clearer when you see your Doc on Tuesday. Thinking of you.

Hi Storms,
Just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your test results today - really hope its all good news for you. With regards to the gynae appointment, have you thought of paying for a one off private appointment so that you get seen more quickly? I know it can be expensive (usually about £175) and many would say unethical because it allows you to jump the queue (very often they can see you within a week) but if it is an option, it could be well worth while in terms of getting any treatment started asap and finding the relief that you need and deserve. I have done this on two occasions and I can honestly say that it speeds up the treatment process no end and gets things moving much more quickly. I had to pay for mine by begging, stealing (well, not actually stealing :-) ) and borrowing at the time as I was a single parent and there was no spare money available but I would definitely do the same again.
I hope your pain has gone and, if not, that you are finding you are able to manage it with help. If you are still struggling, please go back to your doctor and make a fuss! The squeaky wheel always gets oiled first:-) and no one should have to put up with pain as there is always something that can be done to help.
Best wishes,
Stellagirl xxx
Hi Storms,
Just to give you a bit of reassurance, tests do often go straight back to the Doc's as they have to be reviewed by a medical professional before they can be passed on. This is because the results will often be just an abbreviation and a number which, if below a certain point would be deemed normal and above that point would need further investigation and although this is printed on the results, a doctor has to read them to give a qualified interpretation and advise on any treatment (it's a bit like when the pharmacy assistant dispenses the drugs and the pharmacist has to put his signature on it to say that it''s correct - a formality really). They tend to do this with everyone now so that people don't read anything into not receiving their results straight away unneccessarily.
I completely understand that going private is not a possibility - it's expensive enough eating and keeping the house warm at the moment without extra expense and, to be honest, you should be able to get prompt, effective treatment on the NHS. The squeaky wheel approach usually works though :-) if in doubt and if you feel you're not getting anywhere, keep turning up until they get so fed up they do something decisive about it!
Very best wishes,
Stellagirl xxx
As Stellagirl says, Sorm all you can do is keep on and on at them. I had the same problem- in a way- with my doctors. I knew there was something wrong with me and kept at them till they did something . It was arthritics of the spine. Good luck and will pray they do something quick for you.xx
Hi Storms,
Fingers crossed for you.
As for your SSP you need to claim it direct from the government after 6 months and HR should have told you - however ASDA are not good employers so I'm not surprised they haven't told you.
Click on the link below, either print the form and go back to HR or phone them and demand they send you an SSP1.

I have had numerous kidney and bladder infections, and just to fun the bladder is located pretty close to the uterus, so I was always getting period type pains and cramps, feeling heavy in the belly, nausea and back ache. take a urine sample to the dr for analysis just to be on the safe side.
