Weekly Meditation Wishlist
Hello and welcome to our weekly meditiation wishlist!
Please add your choice of topic/request/cause to the list by replying to this post, each week we will start a thread on General Discussions that will let us all know what the meditation of the week is!
The aim of the weekly meditation is to give love and light to a cause close to our hearts every Wednesday at 9.00 pm for about 10-15 minutes. It really doesnt matter wether you have been meditating for years or just started today, if you have good intentions, that's what counts!
So put the little 'uns to bed, bring your partner, family and friends and know that at 9 pm every Wednesday all S&D forumites are meditating with you through out the country!
In Love and Light

Cheryl & Lyn
Good work, Cheryl and Lyn. Can I suggest a Wed night visualisation regarding the moon. There is increased interest in mining the moon for energy sources, particularly something called helium-3 which will apparently be an alternative energy source. It sounds a bit wacky, but there are actually companies already planning to lay claim to moon mining (www.financialpost.com/news-sectors/story.html?id=1583302). I find this incredibly disturbing. Mother Earth has been plundered for all she has to offer, now there are moves to plunder the moon. I don't need to detail how important the moon is in terms of female energy, wicca, etc. and it's hideous to think that there are plans to desecrate it. The moon doesn't regenerate, so any damage to it will be permanent. I would like to suggest a visualisation to stop all plans/efforts to mine the moon and for the moon to be protected. Mise xx
Yes, I'm with you on this one, Mise!!
We've ruined Mother Earth, let's not start on the moon!
Carole xx
Thank you Cheryl and Kirsty for starting this off for me and thanks to S and D for the sticky!! The moon is a great theme. MAybe we could use this for next Wednesday? Lyn xx
The moon is a very good theme. Absolutely horrified to hear about moon mining. I can't believe I missed the polar bear meditation, I thought it was Wednesday today! xx
Dear friends: I shall be with you on Wednesday 9pm for the Moon Meditation - another most worthy topic... With love and Light xxx
Hey all,
I've writen a piece about 'The Bees' their history, the healing properties of bee hive products, interesting symbology, their decline over last few years and links to what we can do to help them for my e-newsletter.
Also I've invited people to join the forum so that they can join in on our Wednesday night meditations.
Sorry I missed the Polar Bear med, but will be with you all for the Moon med.
Love & Big Big Hugs

PS : think the Full Moon is next Saturday 6th June, so those of us on the spa weekend could continue with the good work and have a mini meditation then as well !!!! xxxxxx
Hi Lyn,
Will definitely be joining the Moon meditation this coming Wednesday.
Love Pat xx
Great idea, the moon is so important in affecting tides and animal migration as well as her silver healing power and everything else she does for us... definitely up for that!
C xxx
Missed polar bear meditation as out for day visiting my mum and sis with the kids so didnt get back in time
. Moon meditation sounds brill so will def be there for this one. Am horrified to think of the moon being destroyed. She is way too important in everything she does !

Hi Everyone,
Today my monthly copy of Fate and Fortune magazine dropped through my letter box. I've just looked through it and on the last page there's an article written by Uri Geller called Heal the Planet with your mind. In the middle of the text is a large photo of a polar bear! Uri's asked readers to focus positive mental energy on cooling the planet down. He's also written an excellent visualisation to help readers concentrate on cooling the Earth's temperature down (well worth reading). It was nice to know we've done our bit for the Polar Bears last Wednesday. As I was the one to suggest we meditate for polar bears, I must be on the same wave-length Uri Geller's tuned in to (LOL)
Hope you're all enjoying your weekend. The weather's love her in Wakefield, so it's been nice being able to sit outside in the garden for a change.
Love Pat xxxx
I'm up for the Moon meditation this week, as I really don't like the idea of development, building etc on her surface!! I think we should try and picture her surface intact, serene and unspoiled.
Just wanted to tell you all this morning when I went out in the garden there were LOADS of bees amongst the flowers!! I could hear the buzzing!! (No polar bears mind!) THEN I came back into the kitchen and Jill was bringing a swarm of bees into her hive in the Archers! It's all happening people! Keep up the good work.
Love Kirsty xx
Now we have decided on the Moon as our next theme, I have started a thread for all discussion about that! So what is on the wish list for next week?
I know I suggested polar bears already but can we also do a meditation for the Rainforests sometime please? Trees are a valuable resource for the Earth as they take in carbon dioxide and give off oxygen we all need. They also have providing many medicines for the world too.
Love Pat xxxx
Rainforests next week it is then!! Lyn xx
Hi Em!
What's the link to your newsletter, please?
I've joined the BBCT today - the Bumble Bee Conservation Trust.

Great link, Carole. I will definetely join that. Mise. xx
Caught something on the radio earlier about the WI getting involved in bee conservation! Love it!
Love Kirsty xx
hiya!
Some suggestions for weekly meditations:
1. Galapagos Penguins
2. Kiwi birds
3. Fungi (breakdown things and provide vital nutrients for the soil so plants can grow etc)
4. Passangers on the missing airplane and thier families and loved ones
I will restrain myself and stop my ideas there!

Hello everyone, Following on from Cherrybug's great suggestions - may I add, for now: Oceans, Lakes, Rivers, Streams (all bodies of water) of the world - so that pollution is a thing of the past and all living creations have clean water to drink/live in. With Love & Light, R xxx
Evening both!
Great ideas! It is the rainforest next Wednesday as suggested by Pat. I like all the ideas suggested by both of you! We will definately do them! Lyn xx
Hi everyone
As per another thread, I'd like to add peaceful and harmonious neighbourhoods to the list. I was also thinking that it might be good to send some encouraging thoughts to Barak Obama - I think he has so much potential to do good, and I'd like us to strengthen his arm, so to speak. I've noticed that he seems to be wavering a little - eg over Guantanamo. What do the rest of you think?
Love Kirsty xx
Hi again peeps!
Kirsty (hiya!) I think you have touched upon many important suggestions there... I, for one, agree 100% with all your suggestions...Love Row xx
Hi All..
One of the many, many items in my wishlist at the moment along with world peace and our beautiful planet and its fauna and flora to live on, is in connection with a petition I sent out the other day.
I did suggest that no-one watch the attached video as it is so indescribably cruel that even though I haven't watched it, it's mere exsistence as proof of what happens gives me sleepless nights!!!
It was film footage of animals cats and dogs being skinned alive for the meat trade in Asia.
I am sorry to even write about such a vile subject on here but can we please have a joint meditation to stop this evil practice.
Love and blessings to you all
Viv xx
...it is horrendous. I couldn't get the images out of my mind for a long time. I'd definitely go for ending that hideous practice as one of our meditations. Good call Viv.
Love Kirsty xx
So - it is Pat's rainforest request next Wednesday, but there have been so many other suggestions! They will all get done eventually, but which one next ? Lyn xx
Hi Kirsty and thanks for the support!
I know it is so distressing and unbelievable that people can do such a thing to any living creature.
And to be honest I struggle with feelings of hatred for these monsters.
But maybe if we pray for enlightenment for them, they will realise that animals and humans deserve our respect and love.
Love
Viv xx
Would definitely send out thoughts to stop that horrendous animal cruelty. Can't believe such things could happen in 21st Century, it's barbaric.
Love Pat xxx
Can I also add a suggestion to this splendid thread please.
I wonder if at some point, we could do a meditation for people who have mental health problems and learning disabillities and who suffer from the affects and predijuce of and against their conditions, inc. lack of proper health care and education. And could we also send out positive thoughts for the people who love and care for them.
thank you. B XX
Personal request this week if you don't mind. I thought we could combine the suggestion of troublesome neighbours with sending out general vibes for peace, love, happiness and positivity in bucket loads as there have been a few of us who have been down lately and as our weekly sessions are so powerful, I thought that we could all do with a boost!! Is this ok with everyone?? Lyn xx
Sounds like a great idea Lyn.
Love Kirsty xx
Count me in for Wednesday's meditation, definitely think it would be a good combination.
Love Pat xxx
For this Wednesday's meditation, 17th June. 9pm. Got such a positive vibe just writing it! Really looking forward to the actual meditation!! Lyn xx
Sounds good to me! Will be joining you all on Wednesday.
In love & light,
Janet
x
....will be with you at 9pm tonight!
With Love & Light, Row X
What's the next subject for meditation?
Can I add the subject of animal cruelty to the list? I've come across several instances of horrid cruelty in the news lately and it upsets me so much.
Animals have as much right as we do to being treated kindly and with respect.
Carole xx
I think you're right. I'd like to focus on owners caring properly for their pets etc, people not hunting animals for sport, scientists finding and using viable alternatives to animal testing and animals who are farmed being housed and cared for properly. And a special wish to those poor animals farmed for fur who are skinned alive - I think they were mentioned earlier in this list of ideas.
Love Kirsty xx
Hi Everyone,
Definitely think a meditation focusing on animal cruelty is a good idea. Count me in girls.
Love Pat xxx
Great subject to focus on. Kirsty - you are so good with the visualisations! Could you please set the scene for everyone with this? Many thanks! Lyn xx
Animal cruely is a subject i feel passionately about too - where i live we are surrounded by sporting estates where gamekeepers kill everything but pheasants - and then those are killed for fun in the winter. I love the countryside but refuse to accept their line that country living equates with killing animals. I feel pain everytime i go out walking and see crow traps - they are such intelligent birds it is so wrong to say it is not maltreatment as long as food and water is provided- they are suffering mentally. So i will be meditating to try to bring some compassion and respect for animals into the minds of the 'sporting' world.
Homlessness has been suggested on last weeks meditation thread. But I would like to go back to Runa's suggestion of oceans/streams/rivers/water in general. I know we have had alot of it this last few days, but it is such an important part of our survival. There are some that get too much and some that get hardly any at all. I spent some time looking at rivers yesterday and feeling the nature of them and felt a connection. There is so much pollution these days so if we could concentrate on clean oceans and rivers for wildflife, not only fish but birds and other creatures that depend on water for their food. Also that there is a balance and people that need water for crop growing and for clean drinking water get it and those that get washed out by floods, get a bit less of it! I will set up a separate thread for this too. Lyn xx
.. we do one this week and the other the next?
K xx
Will be doing this as our meditation this week. And also this is a request - if anyone wants to take over the choosing of the topic every week and initiating the thread for all the discussions on that chosen topic each week, please do so! I started this idea of a weekly meditation, because I wanted to see the power of the human thought and and what it could achieve. I still believe in this and will join in with the weekly meditations, but I feel I am being led to let someone else do it! If no one wants to then I will continue, until someone else feels drawn to want to take this over. Much love to you all. Lyn xx
Came across article in today's paper about water crisis in Bopal, India.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jul/12/india-water-supply-bhopal
It seems like a very worthy meditation cause. It would be to encourage the Monsoon rains to arrive immediateley and for them to arrive in a manner which would replenish all water supplies with fresh healthy water. Don't know if meditation is already decided on for this week (15th July) but maybe next week? Mise xx
Have just remembered I'm now responsible for this lol!!
We have 2 ideas for this week's meditation:
The water situation Mise has just posted or
the swine flu epidemic
What do you all think? My feeling is the water situation is more pressing - so perhaps we could focus on that this week and swine flu the week after? Please let me know what you think.
Love Kirsty xx
I'm prejudised towards the water for Bopal. Mise xx
i'd like to join the weekly meditation to try and make a difference -- can i start today, please?
thanks
Lynn
P.S. don't know anything about Bopal, apart from wht I read above, but that won't matter, will it? I just need to concentrate my thoughts on rain for that region?!?!
Just go for it tonight Lynn. I don't think your knowledge matters, the main thing is that all of us are focussing positive thoughts on dry regions receiving the rain they need - and I suggest that all of us treat our water with more care and respect.
I think it's a bit like sending your cosmic orders - you don't know how they'll be fulfilled exactly, but your request sets the cosmic ball rolling.
Love Kirsty xx
I am not poking my nose in here but as you are asking for suggestions for the weekly meditation can I just say something. Why does it have to be just 1 thing per week? When I used to go to our weekly meditation we did several things each time just the same as when we do our weekly distant healing and have loads of names on the list & read them out in the group.Or if you wanted we could do 1 group per week, for example one week mother earth & all living things on it ie trees, flowers humans, animals bla bla. Then another week The Air & everything in it. Another week all the water & seas & everything in it etc. Only a suggestion. Love & Light Angelwings xxx
I would like to join in the weekly meditations. is this weeks definetly on Swine Flu? x x

I was thinking I'd better do this if Lyn's offline for a while.
Don't forget tonight's focus is the Polar bears and their environment!
Love Kirsty xx
