Symptoms...
For the past week or so I have had the following issUES: 1. Tiredness despite 8hrs sleep a night. 2. Stuffy nose. 3. Nausea and lightheadedness in early evening 4. Cramps in evening. Several people have joked about pregnancy but two tests have been negative. I am due for period but ive always been irregular so that doesnt mean much. For all the mums on the forums are these signs that are normal for pregnancy? Can anyone suggest any gemstones to help with symptoms. Or anything else. Sat curled up with hot water bottle at the moment and that seems to be helping cramps.
Hi FaerydeaWings,
Those symptoms don't sound very familiar to me but everyones different and experiences things differently so you never know!
A hot waterbottles the best for cramps, I hope they ease up soon.

Hi FaerydeaWings,
I must admit that these were the kind of symptoms I had with my first pregnancy. I thought I was going to have my period, as the cramps were very similar. They were not painful as such, but there all the time (So there I was ,digging the garden over while smoking 20 Mayfair Lights lol).
Snowstar is right though, if it's in the very early stages of pregnancy, then it will not show up on test yet. I used Clearblue Digital test for my second pregnancy and it's really acurate. It tells you how far you're gone as well. You can use this up to 4 days before you expect your period

Hope this helps.
Warm wishes,

Hi Hun,
Sorry your still feeling so unwell.
if you are intending to take another test could i make a suggestion. if found the very best tests that show up well even in the early stages are either superdrugs own test,(think its around £5), or the best ive ever used was first response.
I think it was realy quite rude of the receptionist to be so dismissive, but ive found this is the way in general at the moment with doctors. Ive a friend who has a 4 month old baby whos been unwell for a while & she keeps getting fobbed off with the same, 'it will pass', rubbish for weeks. Its like they dont want patients!
Anyway, i realy hope you are able to get some awnsers soon, & your feeling better.

Hi,
Can't believe how rude the receptionist was!!! I used to get so annoyed with the receptionists at my old surgery as well. They would ask me what my symptoms were and then they would make the desicion whether I needed to see the GP or not. If they were qualified to do that, then they should have been doctors, surely?
Anyway! Did you say that you did see a cross? I remember being told this: If you are not pregnant, the test can only show negative. If you are pregnant, the test can show either positive and negative. Not sure if that makes sense?
Maybe take another test? (I did 5 the first time I was pregnant!)
If you still feel unwell over the weekend, maybe ring NHS direct? They are really helpful. Often more helpful than doctors!
Warm wishes,
Lena
I'm so sorry the receptionist was rude to you too. We have a very impatient doctors receptionist too.
I remember the first pregnancy test I did, there was some kind of mark and I thought it must be part of a cross, but the second one was negative and I wasn't pregnant that time. But that was ages ago, I think they're more efficient now so perhaps you should try again.
And I do hope you feel better soon.

sorry to hear how you was treated by the receptionist, they really do annoy me when they think they have the right to diagnose to you the patient over the phone when merely thier job is to book you in for an appiontment and they are not the GP. I would suggest if you are still not feeling well to ring again, and ask for an appointment, if the receptionist ask why? or what for? clearly state that it is personal and confidential and nothing to do with her, this is between you and your GP, if you have no joy then put in a complaint regarding her attitude. I hope this helps, and i hope you feel better soon.

Good luck for Monday! I hope you feel better soon.

Good luck from me too. Hope it's something simple, I'm sure it is.

Are generally not very nice people I have found!
They do not need any qualifications to work in the surgery yet they have all the power of deciding who gets an appointment and when and which prescriptions you can have.
There are some nice ones I am sure but some are just on a power trip!
You do not have to reveal anything at all to a receptionist so just be polite and don't let them get to you!
Good luck for tomorrow.

So glad oyu saw someone nice! Just the bloodtest and the waiting then :) But at least you know what's going to happen.
How are you feeling today?
Warm wishes,

Great the cramping has eased! Ginger is really good for quesiness, maybe try that if it gets really bad?
How will it be for you, if you find out you are pregnant?
I had cramping pains with my first child and felt sick at night! I did numerous pregnancy tests which were all negative until I got to about 8 weeks! Sounds to me like you could be pregnant! Are your breasts sore also? Thats another sign.

After having four children I have to say you do sound as if you MIGHT be pregnant. With my first baby the tests came up negative yet i was pregnant and being sick, having bad cramps etc.
You know what they say New Home means a New baby!
Whatever happens then it has happened for a reason and the baby is meant to be and i am sure your family will be excited when they see how delighted you are hun and after all you are adults are you are married, so really you both take charge of your own life x

Take it from me..i'm someone who has been trying for a baby for ages and ages....sometimes however hard you plan or don't plan if it's meant to be it's meant to be. I really hope all works out for you and i'm sure your parents will be delighted. I had it all planned...first baby at 31 etc etc and it didn't happen so i'm not planning for anything now just going with the flow of life and you should too :)
I must say all your symptoms are pointing to a pregnancy... look forward to hearing the outcome but don't be scared...it's an exciting time for you xx
I've got polycystic ovaries and was told I probably wouldn't have children. So I accepted that and got pregant three times, miscarried the third time though which was really sad.
Well Faerydaewings you've got a lot of ladies waiting to hear what your results are tomorrow!
I hope it works out as whatevers best for you.

Hi,
Well at least you are a little bit wiser.
It's a shame the GP didn't measure the infection levels in your blood, when he did the test anyway.
Can you book an appointment now for next week? At least that way you won't have to wait too long?
Lena
Hi hun I have the same symptoms as u, headaches, stuffy nose, nausea, cramps and my period is 9 days late! I went to the doctors about it today cos the headaches are becoming unbarable and I did a pregnancy test which was negative just like I thought it would be and the doc just thinks its a bug so maybe thats what u have too?. I actually feel like im on my period with all the stomach cramps and feeling tired etc its really weird!
I hope u get to the bottom of it soon xxx
Hi FaerydaeWings,
I can understand your frustration. It's really difficult when you're feeling rubbish and you can't get to the bottom of it.
I was just wondering if you have a gas fire or boiler in your house and if you've had it checked/serviced lately? I had a friend who had similar symptoms and it turned out her boiler was producing carbon monoxide. Her symptoms returned in the evening when she got home from work and reduced in the day when she was away from the source of the problem. Of course it may well not be this (and i don't want to alarm you unneccessarily!) but it might be worth checking it out if applicable and if you still haven't got to the root of the problem.

Hello just caught onto this thread, Hope you get to the bottom of your concerns soon. Last year I had to go to the doctor as I was having all the symptons for a period without coming on, I had all my usual signs and I was very heavy when I was on. I ended up having the period pain for 3 weeks a month and a heavy bleed so there was no winning, eventually I found out I have got fibroids. The are small but there. I am not having any treatment for them though as I got made a hospital appointment but the doctor who I saw there said it was nothing to worry about. I got put on the pill though to try and sort ot the flow (sorry to be graphic) and tablets for the pain. Since I've moved and got out of the place I was everything has calmed down again, its not a consistant pain any more which is good.
I hope the doctor can get to the bottom of it though and get you feeling better soon xxx
Hi Hun,
I thought id drop you a line as i do have some knowledge of this.
I wont go into loads of detail, but i was trying to start a family with my ex & i lived & breathed all things baby related.
It may be you are indeed in the early stages of pregnancy & the negative tests are because the hormone level isnt high enough yet to be detected. The cramping could be implantation.
On the other hand it may just be hormone related if your cycle is irregular.
Sadly i think it might just be a case of wait & see. If you have concern id book into see your gp & they could give you a blood test which is far more accurate than a urine test.
If you want to ask anything please fire away.
