What type of therapy?
Hi everyone!
I have always been a quiet person, but recently I have found that I am getting more and more panicked by social situations. I really identify with the signs of social anxiety and I would like help with this but I don't want to resort to medication. Does anyone know of any other types of therapy that could help with this? My friend suggested acupuncture but I'm not sure if this works on an emotional level? Thanks for any suggestions!

The only suggestion I can offer is CBT...cognative behavioural therapy. I have recently started this through my GP, as i have depression & anxiety. The theory I can get my head around...the application may take some more time...
Others may have more suggestions, good luck I hope you find what you need...love & light...xxx
Hi cickle
you could try hypnotherapy. It is ideal for these types of problems.
Hope you find your solution.

ps the thing about hypnotherapy is you do not need to know/go into the reasons why you feel a certain way.
EFT can help let go of the fear you have and any negative thinking you have about yourself :) and its so easy you can do it at home, there are a good few videos on youtube about it :)
It can be excellent for problems like socialising and the like

I hope these suggestions help you, and would add that breathing exercises can help keep you calm too - and I use Rescue Remedy etc when I'm feeling stressed too.
I'll add you to our list for this Wednesday's healing meditation, so hope that gives you a little calming boost too!
Love Kirsty xx
Bach Flower Remedies are very helpful, I am a Bach Flower Registered Practitioner, just ask if you would like to know more :)

Do you meditate at all? This can help you ground yourself and put things into perspective when feeling stressed.
I'm not sure what EFT is, can soemone fill me in please? Thanks

Kazzie. EFT is emotional freedom technique - sometimes called tapping. It is where you tap on points on your body Mostly face, chest & hands) in a certain sequence and it helps to release/relieve certain emotions/symptoms etc. (you also state certain affirmations at the same time)
It was used on Vietnam war veterans with amazing results - particularly those with post traumatic stress.
There is also EMDR - eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing - basically a series of eye movements that can be used in conjunction with tapping to help relieve certain conditions.
There are some videos on the internet that show eft in practice but unfortunately I can't remember the site.

and put in EFT. That should find it!
