Would you like a psychic reading in Spirit & Destiny magazine?
Do you have Christmas decorations that you treasure and get out year after year? Or perhaps one that was handed down to you by a relative who has now passed away? Objects can hold the energy of those who own them or have given them. Psychics who practice psychometry can tap into this energy and give you a reading from it. Would you like one of our psychics to give you a reading from your Christmas decorations? If so, and you would be prepared to be featured in the magazine, please email me at: jo.cooke@bauer.co.uk with your name, age, daytime and evening phone numbers. Also, tell us briefly what the Christmas objects are that you treasure and why.
I have been led to believe that psychometry is illegal, does anyone know the truth on that?

Where have you heard that? I assume it would be covered by the same legislation of all aspects of "fortune telling"?
Love Kirsty xx
But. . .is giving the description of your item and the reasons why its of sentiment not just feeding the information to the reader? Im not saying that by telling staff at S & D the history of the item that it means it would be leaked, but I for one would be more impressed with an accurate reading had I not already told somebody, even if it is good old S & D that I had my old great aunts crystal santa boot, passed down to her by her mother! Just always wonder about that, even when Tony Stockwell readings were printed in the magazine, and I love him, I always wondered why did the person had to give their story prior to reading, why cant it be read without anyone knowing anything?
Just curious, not being disrespectful, and apologise if it seems that I am.

Kirsty,
it was at an event organised by Richard Felix(?), the guy who used to be the historian on Most Haunted.

I understand that it might seem strange for us to ask for this information, but the features team will need it to help them prepare the article.
For example, if 50 people contacted us and said they'd like to be involved, it wouldn't really be practical to invite them all to bring their Christmas decorations in, have a psychic give each of them a reading, interview them briefly about their items, then decide who to feature in the magazine - not to mention that if someone came to see us and then we didn't put them in, they'd probably feel quite annoyed! So if we get a little bit of background first, we can see which people have the most interesting stories or unusual objects, and decide who we'd like to involve in the feature.
Hope this helps to make things a little clearer. Rest assured that the psychics who take part in our features aren't given any information beforehand - we're as curious as you are to see just how much they can pick up.
Art: I've not heard of any laws against psychometry, and it's certainly not anything we've been advised about. It may be that it was illegal in the past - perhaps someone knowledgeable on the forum could shed more light on this?
Thanks
Joe

Thanks Joe, does make sense I know, and suppose you do need to know background info before hand as the person, if awkward enough, or if not really into all this stuff, could just make out everything the psychic said was wrong, where as if your team know history that can not be done, so fair point and thanks for telling me
Lizzy
