FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The site won't log me in. What can I do?
One frequent problem is that passwords and log in names for the site are case sensitive. Please make sure that you have typed both in exactly as supplied originally.
I have forgotten my password. What do I do?
Click the request new password link (to be found on the home page underneath the log in details box). You will then be able to enter your e-mail address and have your new password emailed to you instantly.
I've registered, but haven't been sent a password. What do I do?
Several things may have happened here. Firstly, did you enter the correct email address when you registered? Also, do remember that the password may take up to one hour to be sent to your email address.
Secondly, it is possible that you failed to complete the registration process, so try re-registering. It is also possible that the email was sent, but was filtered out by your spam filter. Check your junk mail box, and if you still cannot find the email, do contact us by emailing email@example.com. You'll need to send us your user name and registration details so that we can look into the problem for you. Please also remember to put the reason for your query in the subject heading of your email.
How do I change my password once I've logged in?
To change your password once you've logged in, click on 'My account' and then click on the edit bar at the top of your account details. Key in your new password in the box provided and then key it in again in the 'Confirm password' box. Press 'Submit' to save the changes and your new password will have been saved.
If you are still having problems, please feel free to contact us by firstname.lastname@example.org. In order to help us resolve your query, please provide us with as much relevant information as possible about the nature of your problem. It would be helpful if you could provide the following details, and remember to put the reason for your query in the subject heading of your email:
- Your user name
- Your email address
- Your password
- Your telephone number
- A description of the problem
Managing your account
MANAGING YOUR ACCOUNT, YOUR MESSAGES AND YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS
Once you have logged in you can update your contact details by clicking on 'My account' in the grey user login widget in the top right corner of the site. It's available on every page so you can always access it. Once you have navigated to your account you will see four tabs running horizontally across the page between the main navigation menu and your username.
These tabs will enable you to control every aspect of your Spirit & Destiny user account.
By default you will see the details of your user account rendered as a simple page.
If you wanted to change anything, eg a change of address or telephone number, then you can do that here. There are two sub pages, one for account details that the system uses to help you interact with the site (email address, password etc) and another for personal details (address, telephone number etc).
Under account details you can upload a picture that will be displayed next to your forum posts. Any picture you upload will be scaled and cropped to 85 pixels square.
Another feature of the site is the ability to track your forum posts. Under 'Comment follow-up notification settings' you can choose to receive an email every time someone replies to one of your forum posts or even replies to one of your replies. Also, see below for more information.
You can use the site to send private messages directly to other users.
As a responsible website we reserve the right to access all messages on the site in case of complaints of abusive behaviour by a user. The term 'private' means that your message is not accessible by other users, it does not mean that it is secure, encrypted, anonymous or anything like that. Please do not send sensitive information (eg credit card details) or libellous/abusive comments via the private messaging system.
Any content that you create will be listed here. Usually this will be forum-related material with a list of topics that you have started or contributed to. Every time you post a comment or start a topic then that forum topic appears in this list. Every time someone else comments on something in that list then that is noted under the 'Replies' column so you can keep track of all your active forum topics.
